Brief Overview

NanoVMs makes software to help create and deploy unikernels. Quoting from, “Unikernels are specialised, single-address-space machine images constructed by using library operating systems. They are built by compiling high-level languages directly into specialised machine images that run directly on a hypervisor, such as Xen, or on bare metal.” Unikernels are an alternative to containers.

In Q2 2018, DeferPanic closed a $1.5 million round of seed funding and rebranded as NanoVMs.

Products and Services

NanoVMs protects applications from shellcode exploits. Attackers cannot SSH into a host and run malicious processes on it.

Ops is an open source wrapper around QEMU and KVM that allows developers to load an ELF binary into a Nanos unikernel.
